Who we are: Applying for a place at Brindishe
There are 30 children in each year group from reception class to year 6. There are 35 places in the nursery class, 20 are part time and 15 are full time. Places at Brindishe are allocated following the guidelines set out by Lewisham. These are:
- Children in the care of the local authority have first priority for places at the school.
- In exceptional circumstances children may be given a place on grounds of medical or social need. In these circumstances the decision is taken in consultation with the Director of Education.
- Places are then given to siblings of children already in the school. If places are limited it may not be possible for brothers and sisters living furthest from the school to be given a place.
- After brothers and sisters, places are given to children for whom this is the closest community school.
- Any remaining places are given to the children who live nearest to the school.
Application forms and a copy of the admissions policy can be obtained by calling into the school after 4.00 pm or by sending a large stamped addressed envelope to the school.
