How we're organised: School council

Brindishe SchoolWe have a school council, a group of children who represent the interests of children at Brindishe, and members are elected by the children in Key Stage 2.

School council meets with members of the staff each half term. The agenda is set by the children who are encouraged to bring to the attention of council members ideas for improving our school for all users. Minutes of each meeting are circulated to all classes and discussed by the children with their class teachers.

School council representatives report to the governing body and in this way children begin to appreciate the democratic processes behind decisions and priorities.
